My Plans or Lack Thereof
. . .
- Summer in Florida 2025
Well, I don’t recommend it for the summer! Way to humid!
I have been looking for a permanent place to live for 9 years while I rattled around the country.
I sold the house in 2018 and headed out for adventure.
After several years on the road I bought a park model at Lake Erie But I had to leave every year in October when they shut down. Because it’s so freaking cold up there and you always had to winterize or come back to a
house full of busted pipes.Luckily, that never happened to me because I always winterized it.
It was just a pain to pack up all your belongings, including sewing machines and cricket machines to do crafting on the road.
So in April, I went back to the Lake. Has started making a plan to move some place warmer.
It was amazing packing up a 3 bedroom house in boxes, and I stored them in a 16′ pod in May!
A lovely couple bought my park model and I set out to find a new home.
I went to Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
I rattled around Florida For weeks trying to decide which coast I wanted to live on in which was less likely of getting hit by a hurricane.
I knew I love the rocket launches at Cape Canaveral so I settled on the East coast of Florida. I tried to get as close as I could to the Cape but boy was it expensive down there.
So I headed north a little, about 1.5 hrs from the Cape. I did not wanna be anywhere near Orlando.
During that time of searching, I stayed at the Ocala National Forest.
It was beautiful in the trees. But I knew I had to keep looking at the maps to see what was around there.
I went to Ocala to a Coachmen rally to meet up with fellow Beyond owners.
It was a fun time and met people from all over the country.
I happen to be on tiny home living sites and saw a little community called Crescent City. It was right on a lake called Crescent Lake.
The first place I visited was the library. Then the bank, Then the post office, And gas station.
The Winn-Dixie market is right across the street, and you can walk to it.
The community is 55+ and very quiet. It is right off Route 17 so a tad noisy but I have the machines buzzing so it doesn’t bother me.
There was a 2 bedroom 2 Bath park model. That was just perfect for my sewing room. So I jumped on it.
It is a 2022 model built by Champion Homes and it very well laid out. I didn’t need a huge living room and the master bedroom became my sewing room.
The smaller bedroom has a twin bed and is on the opposite side of the house so I don’t even hear the traffic.
It just fit my style.
The rent for the lot was within my budget. So I had the pod delivered an unloaded it in two days.
They came and picked it up. And I had room for the van and the prius in the front.
My neighbor is a single guy who has tiny car. And he was so nice that we can share the parking area.
There are no lot lines here. I was told by the owner so we worked out. I would give him as much spaces I could. So far so good!
The other neighbor is moving their park model and so I will have a big empty lot next to me..
There is an active spring which runs behind my house.
The house came with a barbecue area and a tiny shed for all my yards stuff. They do mow the yard which is included with the rent.
We have mailboxes in a central location and a dock to watch the launches. Night launches are the best.
The bugs are too bad right now, so this will be my first fall in one place.
I am not sure if I will make it too Arizona or not this winter, but I will work on it. Lots of friends are looking forward to meeting up in Arizona in the desert again.
I have signed up for 3 craft shows in the area so I’m looking forward to those.
The first one is this Saturday called Bike Fest, so a lot of bikers will be passing through.
I made Cheesz-it’s sticky notes and bookmarks. I don’t know how many read but I liked the graphic. Lol

Sticky notes made from Cheez-it boxes. I’m saving them from the landfill!

- Day 152 -Mar. Sun.
I drove back from Columbus up to the lake. I knew it would be cold up here and they were predicting more snow. Thank God that didn’t happen.
Lake Erie gets its fair share of snow. They even started up the ferry over to Middle Bass Island, Put In Bay and Kelley’s Island.
The docks are not in yet they will be putting them in next week.

Brrr Last day on the road until the Fall.
Happy trails. ENJOY YOUR SUMMER.
- Day 151 – Mar 29 Sat.
Happy birthday to Kim Mills.
You know it’s the start of Spring when it’s Kim’s birthday.
Morgan Wallen is on Saturday Night Live tonight and wanted to catch it on Brother Tom’s TV. Live.
So I drove thru 3 states to get to Columbus Ohio. DODGED a big cold front coming this way.
Spent the night in his driveway.
Morgan did a great job on his 2 songs off his new album I’m the Problem, out in April.

Morgan Wallen At the end of the show, In rehearsal, They told him that just walk off. And that’s what he did and now everybody’s giving him flack about it. Grow up people.
Happy trails.
- Day 149 – March 27 Thurs.
I decided to go to Pigeon Forge TN to the Hollywood Wax Museum.
It was really interesting. They were so lifelike and they had props. You could used to get your picture with them.
My favorite, of course, was Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.

- Day 150 – Mar. 28Friday
I headed to Tennessee. Pigeon Forge. Of course, it was spring break and tons of traffic.
Stay at a Cracker Barrel and then decided to go to the Hollywood Wax Museum. Very cool.
More pics of the wax museum.

Great lookin figures.
Happy trails.
- Day 148 – March 26 Weds.
Drove to Clarkesville Georgia to see Sugar Mills Creek Tiny house Village.
It was very cute. A gated community with seventy five homes. But the house I looked at even though the price was great, was very small. No room for my dream sewing room.
I really need a room for 4 sewing machines and 2 servers.
I will keep looking. Here’s a peak at the house. It had a nice yoga studio But it was very very remote.

Bunk beds in the other tiny bedroom. Just not big enough for 125k.
Happy trails.
- Day 147 – March 25 Tues.
Went to my friend Dee’s in Melbourne FL on Monday to watch the Space X Falcon 9 launch. It was awesome. Watched it from Paradise Beach.

Rocket top right corner I heard there was a Falcon 9 rocket launch, and we went to Paradise Beach to see it. It was 20 miles away any we had binoculars. You could feel the rumble on the sand and hear the roar of the rocket.
It was spectacular!
Left Dee’s and went to GA to look at a tiny house village.
Spent the night at Pilot.
I will walk thru on Weds.
Happy trails
- Day 146- March 24 Monday
Want to visit my cousin Ron in Sarasota yesterday. He collects antiques and his house is spectacular on a golf course.

Great visit. Caught up on family matters. It was great seeing him.

Ron, Brian, Lucy, Ricky, and Ethel Happy trails.
- Day 145 – March 23 Sun.
Just heard of neighbor at the lake, Terry died. He was such a good guy.
Had prostate cancer. Very aggressive type. He put up a good fight. I will miss him.

Shrimp dinner I had an excellent shrimp dinner that Ellen made.
I decided to go to cousin Ron’s house in Sarasota. Oh man, what a treat.
Happy trails.
My Winter travels will start on Oct. 15 when they shut the water off at the campground on Marblehead on Lake Erie.
I live in my van from October to May And yes, it usually is down by the river.
This year will be a little different as I’m heading North to Michigan. I’m going to a campground to stargaze at the end of October and watch the Meteor showers.
It is a dark-sky park, so it should be pretty cool.
I hope the mosquitoes don’t chase us indoors. They were pretty thick at night here at the Lake.
In November I will go to Tennessee and North Carolina and check out tiny homes. I’ve gotten used to living in small spaces. And as long as I have a sewing room, I am a happy camper.
I’d like to go someplace South that is a little warmer and doesn’t flood. We’ve had a few floods in the last few years here, but nothing has gotten into the Lakehouse.

In December, over Christmas, I will be on a cruise with my friend from high school, Mickey.
I’ve never been on a cruise, so this should be interesting. We leave out of New Orleans So I won’t head to Arizona until probably late January or February.
I would like to spend some time in New Mexico camping if it’s not too cold. With the crazy weather, you just never know.
Come along with me this year and check out my travels. I will try to post weekly. Because daily gets in the way of all the fun I’m having.
Happy trails.
