Left Douglas Headwaters Campground.
I thought I’d stay at a Cracker Barrel in Pigeon Forge. Since it was coming up on the weekend. I knew it would be super crowded down there. So I went the other way.
Then I headed to the Cracker Barrel and Newport Tennessee. That was kind of a dump and extremely unlevel again.
So I left there and headed to
a rest area in Haywood North Carolina.
Well, I was talking to a friend on the phone my radio was on mute and didn’t tell me to get off at the exit. Well… I ended up getting off at the next exit and didn’t know where that route was going and it was getting dark.
So I saw a sign for an antique motorcycle museum and thought I go stay there.. Will they happen to be closed on Wednesday!
So I could see my luck was running out. So I googled where the next Pilot was.
Pilot truck stops let you camp for the night. Well it was under construction And between the construction equipment and all the trucks getting off I 40 Because of a two semi wreck, it was a big cluster of a mess.
I found a tiny little parking spot next to some cars and called it a night. I got sick of looking.
You don’t get a whole lot of sleep. And it trucks stop because they leave there generators running all night to keep what they’re hauling cool and they’re diesel fuel flowing.
So that was my big birthday night.

Life on the road is not always glamorous.
Happy trails.
