It is my brother Tom’s birthday today.
We are one day in one year apart.
Always celebrated together so mom only had to make one cake.
It was also deer hunting season-opening day. So Dad was always out trying to get a deer.
I decided instead of hanging out on the freeway, I would see the local sites.
So I went on Harvest Host which has stays of one night and found a horse rescue farm eleven miles away.
So I got here about 4pm and it was just in time to feed the horses. Karen who runs Curtis Creek Ranch in Candler NC was an awesome host.
She showed me what she feeds them Is she prepared there nightly bowls of good stuff. Add some organic grain applesauce and pink salt alo g with a healthy bunch of hay.
She said the bales of hay used to be four dollars and now they are twelve.
She has four mares and they all get along.
They are happy horses.
