Yesterday we went to Goldfield Ghost Town and Mine in Apache Junction.
It was really cool. The town burned in the 1800’s They rebuild it with some of the reclaimed wood. Some of the buildings even had fire marks on the ones that are still standing.
They had a senior deal where you could get the train ride, go down into the mine, and tour this mystery house for $25.00 package.
Marlene and I got that.
It was well worth it. The train ride took you all the way around the entire property.
It is a privately owned town now and they get no government funding. They lost their zip code and that’s how it became a ghost town.
The mine tour was very cool and the girl guide was very knowledgeable.
I have claustrophobia, so I could not have worked down there as a miner, but it was well lit, so I went down.
Lots of stories in that mine.
The mystery house was very strange. They had it earthquake and the whole house is sideways. And so they built hand rails so you can walk into it. The pool table have the balls roll in the wrong direction. The jug of water
has no spouse feeding it. And the chandeliers are sideways. It was hysterical.
It really tests your vertigo and equilibrium.

It was a fun day.
Happy trails.
