A lot has happened in the last few weeks.
The summer has been busy with some travel, weddings, windshield replacement on the van, and looking for new places to live.
I may make this a weekly blog since there is so much going on.
On June 8, my dear friend Jill’s daughter, Gretchen, got married in Columbus. So I traveled to Columbus for the wedding. It was a beautiful night in downtown Columbus at a beautiful venue with rooftop balconies.
The next weekend, i met my daughter, Molly, at a greenhouse in Bucyrus called Pickwick. There, we looked around at all the plants and goodies that it had to offer.
They have an entire barn full of.
crafts and sundries that are typical of what you would find in a country store.
We walked into the greenhouse section, and they had a popcorn plant there. We had never heard of a popcorn plant where you rub the leaves and smells exactly like buttered popcorn. It was so strange and different, Molly decided to buy one. Now, this plant is 2 feet tall, and since she flew into Columbus and had to fly back on the plane, how was she going to get it home?
I told her I would keep it and drop it off on my next trip south.
All the way home, my car smelled like buttered popcorn.
The next week, I walked down to where the van is parked and noticed that the windshield was cracked. I think I remember hearing a rock hit the windshield, and I had checked it and looked for a chip, but I did not see one.
I think in the fluctuation of the temperature here, it made a huge crack across the passenger side of the front windshield.
You can’t see it very well but it’s there. It was hard to photograph it with the reflection.
I called Safelite and they came out, after two rain delays and replaced the window. It was pretty slick how they do it.
He recalibrated it, so all the safety features will work again. It’s called a smart windshield and controls the lane assist feature and the rain sensors.
